Here are my September 2014 favorites ❤ I haven’t posted a favorites post in a couple months so I will try to do them as often as I can, considering for me personally I love to see other people’s monthly favorites! In no particular order, these have been my favorites for the month of September ❤
1. City Cosmetics “Pore Minimizing Primer”
This past month I have been using this “Pore Minimizing Primer” that was sent to me by City Cosmetics to try out. I have truly been loving it and have been using it every day. I put it on my T-Zone where my pores are the most enlarged and it does a good job in minimizing the appearance and smoothing out my skin. It hasn’t clogged my pores which is awesome because I have extremely sensitive skin. It feels similiar to the Benefit Porefessional primer but this one is a transparent color unlike the Benefit one which is slightly skin-toned color. This product also claims to treat your pores and to actually over time make them smaller. I’m hoping that will be the case in a few more months! It retails for $45.00 online but City Cosmetics was kind enough to provide a coupon code you can use on their website for 40% off of your purchase which is “juliasallure”.
2. City Cosmetics “City Lips”
Here is another City Cosmetics item since I’ve already talked about the primer. This is their most popular selling item and it is their plumping lip glosses. They have a variety of different colors and they retail for $35.00 but like I said above I have a 40% off code you can use on their site which is “juliasallure”. These glosses are honestly really amazing. They truly do give your lips a fuller appearance without the horrible and sometimes painful stinging feeling other lip plumping glosses can give you. These are the claims on the website:
- Instantly delivers dramatic plumping effects with HA Plumping Spheres
- Stimulates new collagen development with twice the collagen peptides for long-term plumping
- Provides instant fullness, definition, & hydration with long-lasting plumping benefits
- Diminishes and fades the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
- Works safely, painlessly and without irritation or numbness
If you’re in the market for a plumping gloss you can try one of these out! This one here is in the shade “Los AngeLips”
3. L’Oreal Paris “Infallible Eye Shadow” in Goldmine
You can find these L’oreal Infallible Eye Shadow’s at your local drugstore. They are AMAZING. My favorite has been this shade in “027 Goldmine”. It is the perfect golden shade without being too yellow toned. I have heard that this shade can’t really be found in stores in the States and that it’s only found in Canada (where I reside). I know they have one similar in the States called “Eternal Sunshine”. That one is a bit more on the yellow side. I am sure you can find this shade “Goldmine” online if you are from the States. It’s soo pigmented and I literally use it to highlight everything and it’s just the perfect shade. Drugstore priced but definitely not drugstore quality. A total steal. Definitely check out the Infallible Eye Shadow line if you haven’t already!
4. Jojoba Oil
Lately I’ve been really interested in natural skincare and have been trying to stay away from creams and lotions that actually have a lot of bad things for your skin that the companies put in them. I did some research online and read about 100% pure Jojoba Oil and how amazing it really is for your skin and hair. This is my second bottle because I used up my first one in the last couple months. I can’t say enough good things about this oil. I ordered it online from Amazon.ca and it was $9.99 with $5.99 shipping which is a very reasonable price to pay. I have been using it every night and morning on my face as my moisturizer. It’s not a very heavy feeling oil and doesn’t leave me feeling disgusting and greasy. They say it is nearly identical in chemical structure to the natural oils in skin and hair which makes it amazing to use. It is non-comedegenic and will not clog your pores. It has tones of Vitamin E in it which is amazing for scarring as well. Overall I am in love with this oil and definitely recommend it!
5. Luz Lashes in “Miami Stunner”
The company “Luz Lashes” was kind enough to send me a couple of their Cruelty Free Siberian Mink lashes. My favorite pair has been these in “Miami Stunner”. They just give the perfect doe-eyed look and I just have really been loving them and wearing them so much this month! They retal for $44.00 USD which seems like a lot for lashes but they are said to be worn up to over 30 times which is amazing! I’ve definitely worn them numerous times and they are as good as new still! You can use the code “Julia” for a discount on their website.
6. Huda Beauty Lashes in “Samantha”
These Huda Beauty lashes in “Samantha” have also been another favorite of mine this one. They are just soo beautiful and give your eyes that sexy whispy look! Huda Kattan, the famous beauty blogger from the Middle East created this line of lashes and now you can buy them online as well as in Sephora stores in the Middle East, such as Dubai where she resides. These lashes in “Samantha” retail for $20.00.
7. Huda Beauty “Lash Glue”
I was also sent this lash glue when Huda sent me a bunch of her lashes to try. Honestly guys, this is my favorite lash glue of all time! It is waterproof and extremely black. The best part about it is that it is honestly the fastest drying lash glue EVER! No more waiting around waiting for your lash glue to dry. I literally add a thin layer of this to my lashes and apply them RIGHT AFTER to my lashes and they aren’t moving after that. Right now I believe they are only selling the dark-toned lash glue so there is no clear glue yet. But honestly I am addicted to this glue and will not use any other one now! It retails for $18.00 and you can buy it from her online website or at certain Sephora’s in the Middle East.
8. Sigma Beauty Gel Liner
I’ve truly been loving these Sigma Beauty gel liners they recently came out with. I have been using the shade “Wicked” a deep black shade and “Liberally Toasted” a medium brown shade the most. They are extremely pigmented and creamy and just soo easy to work with. I did a whole blog post with swatches of their entire gel line collection that you can find here. You can order them online from their website and they retail for $14.00 but they always have discount codes.
9. Essence Cosmetics “All About Sunrise” Eyeshadow Palette
I seriously love the brand Essence! You can find it at select drugstores or online and they just have the cutest packaging and even better prices! They recently came out with four of these “All About…” palettes in the beginning of September and this “All About Sunrise” has been my favorite! I did a blog post on three of their different palettes with swatches you can find here. I like to spray some MAC Fix+ on my brush and then use these and the pigmentation is literally like a pressed pigment. So amazing!!! I paid this palette $4.99 at Shoppers Drugmart here in Toronto.
10. Sunna Claore Cosmetics Lipstick in “First Love”
I am a huge fan of the brand Sunna Claore cosmetics and their lipsticks are some of my favorite out there! I especially have been loving this perfect nude shade by them called “First Love”. It is seriously the perfect nude and I cannot get enough of it!!! They retail for $10.00 and I also have a 5% off coupon code you can use on your entire purchase from their website which is “julia”. I also have a blog post with a bunch of their other lipsticks & swatches that you can see here.
11. Gerard Cosmetics lipgloss in “Shimmer of Hope”
I am a total fan of these Gerard Cosmetics lipglosses. They are honestly amazing! I can rave about them for hours but I have an entire blog post dedicated to their glosses with swatches and everything which you can find here. They now carry lipsticks which are also amazing and have revamped their packaging to gold – which is soo gorgeous! This gloss “Shimmer of Hope” is similar to their popular gloss in “Nude” but this one is slightly lighter and a bit more pink toned. It’s basically the perfect nude gloss and I am obsessed with it! You can pair it over any lipstick or even on it’s own and it’s just so flattering and beautiful! You can purchase the glosses from their website They retail for $24.00 but I have a 25% off coupon code you can use on their entire website which is “juliasallure”. ❤
Those are all of my favorites for the month of September! I hope you guys enjoyed this post! Don’t forget to check out my Instagram which is @juliasallure for makeup pictures and mini reviews as well. You will see me wearing all of these products I’ve talked about there! ❤
