Hi my loves!
Well I’m back again with some more exciting products. Honestly, as soon as I saw the gorgeous highlighting shades in this NARS blush duo – I was SOLD! These are two of the new NARS “Dual-Intensity Blush” in the shades “Jubilation” and “Frenzy” (at the moment there are six blushes in total). These blushes retail for USD$45.00//CAD$52.00 and you can purchase them on/at Sephora. NARS has already come out with eye shadows with the same formulation so it was exciting to see that they have now added these blushes/highlights to their collection. On the website it states:
These dual-intensity, silky, wet or dry blushes are uniquely formulated with NARS’ exclusive Translucent Prismatic Technology, which allows for multidimensional effects. With a lightweight texture for a flawless finish and true color application, each duo features two ultra-modern shades that can be worn alone or layered together for limitless looks. Apply these shades wet to achieve a high-impact flush or dry to get a natural-looking glow.
I found it really cool that these blushes/highlighters can be used dry&wet! A little thing I always do while applying my highlighter is I spray my brush/face with a setting spray so the product intensifies much more. I love how this product is specifically made so you can apply it wet if wanted and it won’t hinder or ruin the integrity of the product.
The packaging is simple and sleek and it has the same almost velvety texture as the other blush packaging from NARS.
Each compact comes with a nice mirror which is always nice to have. The two different colors are separated and not attached (unlike the MAKE UP FOR EVER Pro Sculpting Duo) which is nice – but NARS states that the colors are made to be mixed if desired so don’t let the little separation sway you from experimenting.
The two duos I picked up both have a stunning highlight shade and in all honesty the highlights are what sold me. Let’s start with the duo in “Jubilation”.
JUBILATION
A sparkling yellow gold highlighter and a shimmering soft nude-peach blush (that can also be used as a highlight on medium/dark skin tones)

Here it is swatched WET
FRENZY
A sparkling soft pink-gold highlighter/ shimmering bright tangerine orange

Here it is swatched WET
Here are swatches of the two highlight shades from both Jubilation and Frenzy. They both look similar in the pan but Jubilation is much more of a yellow gold while the Frenzy shade is much more of a golden champagne.
You can really see the difference in the side by side swatches. I thought they looked identical in the pan but swatching them really proved different. They are both gorgeous highlights.
I also have a comparison swatch between these two highlighters and the MAKE UP FOR EVER Pro Sculpting Duo #2 Golden one that I did a blog post on recently. I compared the MUFE one to MAC’s “Whisper of Gilt” & Estee Lauder’s “Heatwave”. They are literally almost exact dupes. If you haven’t seen that post I will link it here – I also have comparison swatches there. So for a better reference here are the three highlighting shades swatched together:
As you can see they are all slightly different – it just depends on your preference. I personally adore them all. They all have the same texture – it’s very smooth and highly reflective. I’m definitely having a good highlighting moment!
Overall I really love these NARS Dual-Intensity blushes. They’re extremely pigmented and blend into the skin effortlessly. They are on the pricey side but they are a higher end product so that is to be expected. Let me know what you guys think and which ones you want/have!
XOXO Julia ❤
I like these because they appear as if they will look great on both light and dark shades.
Does one of those highlighter is a dupe for the mac whisper of guilt highlighter?
Wow the shades are beautiful
