Hello my loves!
I’m back with another highlighting product… surprise surprise! I recently purchased this Sleek MakeUP Highlighting Palette in “Cleopatra’s Kiss”. I bought mine off of Amazon.ca here. If you’re from the UK I know that Sleek products are easily available at certain drugstores or you can purchase their items right off of their website.
On their official website, the palette retails for €12.49. I bought mine off of Amazon.ca and I paid CAD$16.99 with free shipping for it (which was a pretty good deal!) The weird thing is, after I bought it, I noticed the price was raised to CAD$33.99 + CAD$11.25 shipping. Kind of weird, but I notice Amazon does that sometimes with products! If you’re from Canada, I’d maybe wait a bit and see if they lower the price again to save some $$$.
The product itself contains four highlighting shades. Two of them are powders, and two of them are creams. You are getting 9 g//0.32 oz of product in total.
The palette itself is beautiful. It’s “sleek” (pun intended) and shiny gold, made from plastic. It’s the same size and colour as their other highlighting palette (The Solstice Palette) that I reviewed before. (Click here to see my review on that palette for comparisons.)
The palette also comes with a full size mirror which is awesome. The names of each highlighting shade are found on the back of the palette, and also on a clear plastic slip when you open the palette. It also comes with a mini little brush (I don’t personally ever use the brush it comes with but hey, it’s a nice addition!)
The shades are beautiful – If you’re medium to deep in skin tone, you will love this palette! I don’t really see those who are super fair loving it as much as the majority of the shades are made for those with a deeper skin tone.
Sphinx (Powder): true golden bronze baked powder
Delta (Cream): golden bronze cream
Dynasty (Cream): light yellow based golden cream
Goddess (Powder): rosy champagne baked powder
As you can see from the swatches, the highlighters are definitely super pigmented and they will make you GLOW. I like the fact that they include 2 creams and 2 powders as it makes for a more versatile product. To really make your highlight pop, you can layer a cream highlight first and then a powder and honey, you will be blinding people with your glow! The shades Sphinx & Delta are definitely more suitable for those with medium to dark skin tones – I know I will be dipping into those shades when I am more tan. Dynasty & Goddess will be more suitable for those who are more fair. It’s nice to see that they give pretty much everyone a suitable shade. As I said before, if you are SUPER fair I might give this palette a pass, unless you plan on using the shades as eyeshadows which you totally can (&should!). Once again, Sleek has impressed me with another gorgeous highlighting palette and I would love to see more coming from them!
