Hi beauties!
I recently saw that on Amazon.com & Amazon.ca
you could order the new Maybelline FaceStudio Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter in “Molten Gold“. As you all know I’m a highlight addict so I just had to get one! I ordered mine about a month ago on Amazon.ca here
, and it said on Amazon that it would ship within 1-2 months so I knew I’d have to wait a bit. I just received it today and was too excited to post about it! It retails for USD$9.99//CAD$12.99 which is a great price! You are getting 0.24 oz, which is a nice size. I know you will be able to find it soon in your local drugstores, but I haven’t seen it around yet – I only know that you can find it on Amazon at the moment.
How gorgeous is this highlighter though?! It’s honestly one of the prettiest drugstore highlighters I’ve seen! (Tied with Wet’N’Wild’s “Precious Petals”). I love the embossing on the surface which makes it look that much more luxurious. Texture wise, it’s very creamy and pigmented. It’s a pressed powder but it doesn’t feel dry or powdery at all. It;s super buttery. The only thing is that it’s very soft so definitely use a light hand!
The shade is definitely a “Molten Gold“. It has a lot of gold in it, but it’s not too much of a yellow gold – it still has a lot of peach in it which I personally think makes it more flattering for more skin tones.

As you can see from the swatch above, it’s such a beautiful peachy gold shade.
Since there seems to be a lot of coveted gold highlights out there, I did some swatches with some other popular golden hues that are similar so you can see a comparison!

As you can see from the highlights above, they all look quite similar but there definitely are some subtle differences! (If you asked my boyfriend, he’d say they were all the same colour… hehe). For being a drugstore highlighter, it definitely feels and looks high-end and holds its own quite well! It’s so so beautiful and I’m so happy to FINALLY see drugstore brands come out with some kick-ass highlighters! I’d love to see more shades with a wider range fit for all skin tones! I think this Maybelline highlighter would look amazing on you if you’re medium to deep in skintone. If you’re super pale, it may be a bit too dark on you, but it would definitely still be usable, (even as an eyeshadow). I am definitely a fan of Molten Gold and if you can get your hands on it, I totally would! The price is amazing and the quality is bomb! Let me know your thoughts below. ❤
