NARS: Bord De Plage Collection

Hi beauties! I was pleasantly surprised when I received this package from NARS the other day! To my surprise it included their new *limited edition* “Bord De Plage Collection” Which includes their Highlighting and Bronzing Palette & 3 of their new Velvet Shadow Sticks. I had no idea they were sending it to me so when I opened the package my eyes lit up! I am definitely a highlighting addict as I’m sure you already know if you’ve read my other blog posts/instagram! I had seen some of the NARS highlighting palettes in the past but for some reason never really gave them a try. Let me tell you, this one does NOT disappoint! You can purchase these items at Sephora//Online & on the NARS website as well (or any retail store that sells NARS depending where you live).

Bord De Plage

Highlighting & Bronzing Palette

This palette is a highlighting and bronzing palette which has 4 “opalescent” highlighting shades and 2 “sun wash diffusing” bronzing shades. The highlighters can be used wet or dry. If you use them wet, they will  become even more intense! The top half of the palette seems to be lighter in shade and the bottom half is a bit deeper & more bronze-y. The bronzers that are included are their two cult favourite shades in “Laguna” & “Casino”. Believe it or not, I’ve never tried any of their bronzers in the past so I’m not sure how similar or different they are from the original ones, but I do feel like the texture may be different because these in the palette are definitely very smooth and very silky feeling while I think the original ones are more your traditional, powder formula. This formula has that “melt in your skin” texture which is so nice! (the highlighters have the same, velvety soft formula)

The palette itself is made with a sturdy plastic and it comes with a beautiful, large mirror which is a definite must, especially for the price you’re paying!

Dry swatches on my arm – no primer used.

Rivage (Highlighter): glistening pearl

Crique (Highlighter): pale gold shimmer

Laguna (Bronzer): a mid-tone bronze

Corniche (Highlighter): soft pink shimmer

Galet (Highlighter): golden bronze shimmer

Casino (Bronzer): a deep bronze

Overall, I was super impressed with this highlighting & bronzing palette! The quality is just superb. The powders are so finely milled that they literally melt into your skin! Their whole idea is that the products melt into your skin and give you that “second skin look”. The highlighters can be super natural looking or you can build them up to be more dramatic, while all the while still looking “natural”. This palette is definitely on the pricey side but I totally think it’s worth it for the quality that you are getting & also you are getting 2 different bronzing shades & 4 different highlighting shades which you can wear separately or mix them to create your own custom shade! A definite thumbs up for the Bord De Plage Highlighting and Bronzing Palette. Do keep in mind all of these products are limited edition so definitely get your hands on it before it disappears!

Velvet Shadow Stick

These are 3 limited edition shades from their Velvet Shadow Stick collection. They do have a bunch of other shades in this formula, but I do believe these are exclusive to their Bord De Plage collection.

These shadows are creamy, blendable and super pigmented. They have different finishes such as matte, metallic, & satin. The shadows are great to wear alone or to layer on top/under other shadows. They are long-lasting and crease proof which is great!

Corfu (metallic): shimmering taupe

Nepal (satin): nude pink

Dark Angel (matte): deep brown

I’ve never tried their Velvet Shadow Sticks and was also super impressed by how creamy and easy to work with they were. I wouldn’t say that they are completely smudge-proof but when they do set, they won’t budge! The colours in the collection are beautiful, but I almost wish they were a bit more unique and maybe brighter, but I guess they wanted to keep it pretty neutral and bronzey which does go with the theme of their collection.

Overall, I really think that NARS did a great job with this limited edition collection and I definitely think if you were to spend your money on one thing from it, I would definitely invest in the Highlighting and Bronzing Palette! Let me know your thoughts and which products stood out to you!
